Career Development Campaign “Choose to study construction”
On January 9, 2020, in Riga State German Grammar School a press briefing on campaign’s “Choose to study construction” goals and content took place. We are beyond proud to share exciting news that this year we have become an essential part and patrons of this socially important project too.
This year campaign celebrates its 5th anniversary and its main aim is to introduce students with the reality and background of construction industry and inform them about endless career opportunities and doors that it opens. Season 2019/20 was launched in September 2019 and will continue to bring its informative message till the end of Year of Study in May 2020. Professional and recognized structural engineers, architects and builders are among those that will share their experience with the new generation and soon-to-be high-school graduates. Moreover, their stories have been gathered and put together in educational brochure, that will be presented in top Latvian technical universities, vocational and high schools.
The top priority of the campaign is to visit high schools, construction industry students in universities and vocational schools so that parallel to theoretical knowledges they have an opportunity to get familiar with the stories and experience of successful practices as well. Within the framework of the campaign students are invited to excursions to the largest and most interesting construction objects of Latvia.
The message of the campaign is to give a clear idea on good practice examples in construction industry, promote studying building industry in vocation educational institutions and technical universities – Riga Technical University, Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, Riga Building College – and, what is of utmost importance, inspire students for a job in always exciting construction industry.
